Boulton Paul Defiant

I have a Boulton Paul Defiant that is made of pot metal and painted silver. Only one prop blade remains. It is fitted with black rubber tires, indicating post-WWII production, most likely. Wingspan is 4 1/2" inches. It has no manufacturer mark, which is not unusual, nor country of origin identified on it. This plane does not appear in the Richardsons' book - now, it could be made from a private casting mold, but Dr Tom Miller identifies the brand as Mak A Toy of England.

The Defiant appeared to be a fairly popular toy with old-time toymakers: Acme made one in plastic as did the Canadian maker Reliable Toys.
